Day 7
Sometimes life seems to pull us in many different directions. Simplify. Avert crisis. Keep moving forward with the little regard to what you are 'supposed' to be doing, and do what you need to do.
The right choice isn't always the easy choice. Nor is it always the obvious choice, easy or otherwise. It has been my experience that, most often, there are many right decisions. Choose the one that best suits your situation and try not to hurt people along the way. There can not be any shame or blame in that. Harmless. Be gentle with other peoples hearts and your heart will be lighter and more open for it.
Keeping your relationships meaningful aids in making these decisions easier. If you truly care for someone else's feelings you will be more conscious of making decisions that can potentially harm a friendship. Making 100% logical decisions isn't always the way. Having said that, neither is making 100% emotional decisions. It is a mixture of both that that makes or breaks us.
I prefer the grey areas of life. Matters of the heart are not black and white. If they were, life would come with a rule book, or a guide of some sort. Wouldn't that make things so much easier?! An encyclopedia of all of lifes concerns, sorted by genre alphabetically. How to mend a broken heart: Section 6. Chapter 2.2.1 Section B. Paragraph 17-23. How to fall in love: Section 1: Chapter 1.2.6. Section A. Paragraphs 1 - 180. How to fall out of love: Section 2: Chapter 1.2.22. Sections A-Z. Paragraphs ALL. So simple. Yet, so much reading. How are we to pause the turbulence? All for the sake of simplicity. It wouldn't work. We are all unique, with unique (and sometimes bizarre) situations. Do our emotions sometimes get in the way? Sure. But sometimes, more often then not, so does logic.
So, dare I suggest, perhaps we use both? Our hearts and our heads should be on the same team. Or if opposing, at least willing to comprimise. Simple. Weigh your options. Keep your heart on your sleve. Stay open. Stay vulnerable. It's what separates us from the animals. That, and toilet paper. Keep your thoughts clear and rational. Speak with good intention. Better appreciate the words of others as they are spoken to you. Learn from people. They are learning from you.
Have a phat day!
Super XO
